Debbie Syrop

One of The Experimentrics, Debbie has over 12 years experience of practical public engagement including writing and performing for a variety of audiences, producing theatre and cabaret, compiling demo activities for TV and developing interactive science demonstrations.

In 2005, she was awarded a British Interactive Group (BIG) professional development bursary to research the ways artists have worked with science discovery centres. This led to her to her work on visualise, science made simples ground-breaking science theatre show.

The show was shortlisted for a Total Theatre award and went on to achieve sell-out status in it’s Edinburgh Fringe debut. She project managed the 2011 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures, whilst helping produce a number of other demonstration-led shows. In 2010, she spent 3 months in Australia researching science demonstration performance as part of a Winston Churchill Traveling fellowship. She is has a Masters in Innovation and Engineering Design.
