James is an associate trainer for science made simple and The Training Group delivering courses in public speaking and science communication. He is a trainer for the Famelab UK Masterclass and lectures at the University of East Anglia. #PiercySciTraining 

James has a degree in chemistry and MSc in Science Communication. He has been involved in writing, producing and delivering; science shows, workshops and dialogue events for wide ranging audiences since 1995.

He has been awarded the LAMDA gold medal in public speaking with distinction, and was Chair of the British Interactive Group (BIG)

Before joining science made simple James was Director of Inspire Discovery Centre, a small hands-on science centre in Norwich, where he developed the outreach and educational programmes.

James has appeared on television numerous times to present scientific ideas and demonstrations, notably on The Investigators for Channel 4, which was nominated for a Children’s BAFTA.

James presented at the TEDxUniversityofReading where he spoke about the science behind the traumatic brain injury he suffered back in 2011.

James enjoys telling stories and engaging with live audiences. Here he is talking about gravity in a lift.
