Funded School Workshops

Thanks to the IET and IMechE we are offering our “Keep Calm! I’m an Engineer workshop!” for just £50 + VAT!

More about the workshop?

Our deaf-friendly workshop, “Keep Calm! I’m and Engineer!” (KS2 AND KS3) is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where your students have to use basic engineering and team work to problem solve their way through a series of challenges.

The workshop is designed to build students confidence in problem solving, critical thinking and creativity. In addition to deaf audiences we have found that this workshop is ideal for those who find STEM subjects challenging.

The students were very engaged and everything was accessible to them. It is usually so difficult to find workshops tailored to meet the needs of deaf students.

What will the day involve?

On the day your school will receive up to 2 workshops, each with a maximum of 15 students.

We require that at least one of your two workshops is for students supported by your schools deaf provisions. Our presenters will work with the support staff and teachers of the deaf in your school to ensure that the workshop is accessible to your students. If you would like us to source an external BSL interpreter to accompany our visit that can be arranged at additional cost.

Each workshop lasts around one hour and thirty minutes, however, we can be flexible to fit within your school timetable.
