Becky and Helen, along with Honorary Roadie Nat, had a great time in the rain and mud at the Green Man Festival at Glanusk Park, Crickhowell on the 17th-19th August.
The science made simple van squelched up to the campsite on Friday morning and we pitched our tents before it started raining again. We were performing our popular show ‘Music to your Ears’ to a packed-out science tent in the festival’s ‘Walled Garden’ – an area set aside for family activities. The Green Man Festival audience were brilliant, with lots of willing volunteers for our experiments, and some really great questions from the audience. We were joined in the science tent by Dr Zbig Sobiesierski performing his colour and light show ‘seeing is believing’, and volunteers from the Institute of Physics doing science tricks and demonstrations to entice the audience in out of the rain – which didn’t take much!
When we weren’t performing we had lots of fun watching the bands, eating the delicious food and chilling out in the tea-tent! This is the second year that we’ve been to the Green Man Festival, and we can’t wait for next year – maybe the sun will shine then as well!
