Boat Busking on the Erwell

Manchester food festival received an extra garnish of some science busking as science madboat_busker_david_price_lgee simple’s David Price took to the water aboard the Princess Catherine on Saturday 2nd September.

The Princess Catherine was ferrying families enjoying the festival along the Erwell,  from the Mark Addey Pub to the Imperial War museum at Salford Quays.  As part of the foodie theme everyone onboard then enjoyed a World War 2 ration-pack!  The Imperial war museum played host to a range of activities as part of the food festival but the event didn’t end there as visitors stepped back onto the boat.

To spice up the 30 minute journey back our very own David wandered up and down the aisles engaging the families on board with some great science busking.  He whipped out his giant whoopee cushion, a bunch of balloons and some spinning disks and got everyone involved, even keeping with the foodie theme in making balloon kebabs!

David’s activities caught the eye of Christian Payne a.k.a. Documentally, the social technologist, vlogger and blogger.  His interview with David is available here.
