Science busking uses simple science tricks to engage and excite small groups of people as they move throughout a venue, contributing hugely to the buzz of the event or attraction. The great strength of science busking is its ability to engage people in science on a small scale interpersonal level. Visitors of all ages, be they 4 or 84 years old, are delighted by these interactive demonstrations and their real life applications.
The new Wetland busking take the same techniques and applies them to mud, water and surface tension, buoyancy, and species adaptations; inviting visitors to test out their own set of wings, escape from quicksand and discover the pond creature that’s jet-powered!
The international theme for World Wetlands Day 2012 is Wetlands and Tourism-offering visitor attractions a great opportunity to make use of Wetland Busking to enhance their visitors’ experience of events and attractions.
World Wetlands Day marks the anniversary of the signing of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention) in Ramsar, Iran, on 2 February 1971.
