science made simple is a company with a passion for science! We aim to share our enthusiasm for science by offering a selection of inspirational and educational experiences that are tailor-made for schools and the public.

Our mission

Wendy Sadler

Wendy Sadler is the Director of science made simple and she has over ten years experience of working in science communication. Her experience includes seven years working as an Education Manager at a leading science centre, and one year as the Schools lecturer for the Institute of Physics. In addition she has written numerous books for children and presented science on BBC and ITV Wales.

In 2004 she was awarded the WISE Excellence award for promoting science to girls and women and the Welsh Woman of the Year award for Science and Technology. In 2005 she won the Young Professional Physicist of the Year award from the Institute of Physics. Her first degree is in Physics and Music, and she has since completed an MSc in Science Communication. She has a special interest in the science of music, and is passionate about shifting the stereotype of scientists.

Helen Lloyd

Helen Lloyd is a science communicator for science made simple.

Her first degree is in Physics and she has also completed an MA in Musuem Studies (with distinction!). Her experience includes writing and presenting science shows for schools across the UK and Europe and developing exhibits for science centres and museums. She is particularly interested in the presentation of contemporary science research to a wider audience and she also has a passion for music and particle physics!

Becky Holmesbecky holmes

Becky Holmes is a science communicator for science made simple.

Her first degree is Physics and she went on to study a MSc in Communicating Science at Techniquest, a leading science centre. Her experience includes presenting science shows to all ages from 5 - 85, all over the UK, and internationally, most recently Tokyo and Hong Kong. Her favourite aspect of science communication is presenting and developing new shows for the younger audiences, aiming to create a better image for science within today's popular culture.

David Pricexdavidbiog_med

David Price is a science communicator for science made simple.

David completed his undergraduate studies at Liverpool University in History and American studies. Ba(hons) 1988. After running a small business in the textiles industry David became an interactive exhibit builder for the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester. Whilst at the museum David's passion for science communication and joy at fostering curiosity around science subjects naturally led David to write and deliver science communication events. David then became the museums science outreach provider.

David has organised and presented numerous science events for schools, communities and families, working with organisations such as the BBC, Braniac and Ecsite UK and has been responsible for presentation skill training for other staff. These posts have given David a great deal of experience in communicating with diverse audiences. David now works for the science communication company 'science made simple' as Northwest science communicator. David is the Northwest regional conveyor for the British Interactive Group.

Huw Jameshuw james

Huw James is a Science and Engineering Communicator for Science Made Simple. Huw grew up in the Sirhowy Valley just outside of Cardiff. Having finished top of his class in Geology at Tertiary College, Huw went on to the University of Glamorgan to study Astronomy and Geology. Realising his passion for Astronomy, Huw then graduated with an Honors degree in Astronomy and Space Science in 2006. Later, he joined Techniquest Science Centre as a science Communicator and Presenter before starting work at Science Made Simple in July of 2007. He now co-ordinates the Engineering Explained project at said company, as well as being part of the Science Café in
Cardiff, and a committee member of the BA South Wales Branch.
