science made simple to partner in new Engineering project at Cardiff University

science made simple is a core partner of the interdisciplinary team that have just secured a successful EPSRC Stage Award for Cardiff University. 'Engineering for Life' is a three year, £212,000 project that encompasses a wide range of initiatives to communicate the ways that medical engineering and medical physics can impact on your quality of life.

science made simple will provide a brand new show about engineering that will tour to schools around Wales, and will also develop presentations for WI groups and women returners to work. In addition the project will help provide engineering events at the existing Cardiff Science Festival and the Science Cafe Wales project.

The Cardiff team was one of only three Universities who were successful with this new award which aims to broaden the appeal of science and engineering by supporting large scale interdisciplinary projects. The project will start in early 2006.
