Race for Life

On the 4th June Wendy, Becky, Helen and Rachel joined in the 5km race for life for Cancer Research UK. After weeks of rigorous training (ahem), we joined thousands of women in Cardiff's Bute Park in scorching summer temperatures. Despite the heat we soon got into our stride, with some impressive results! Helen beat her own personal best and finished near the front in 29 minutes, Becky came in next with Wendy and Rachel close behind, all in under 40 minutes.

Our supporters at base camp greeted us with a lovely picnic in the shade, followed by a game of frisby, including a dip in the river to retrieve it. We raised £397 before gift aid, so many thanks to everyone who sponsored us and donated to a very important cause.
