Superstars Tour

science made simple was commissioned by WISE in Wales (Women Into Science, Engineering and Construction) campaign to produce and tour a show that highlights the excitement of a career in science, engineering, and construction. The show was funded by the Welsh Assembly Government.

Science and Engineering Superstars!!

Thanks to funding from the Welsh Assembly Government science made simple were able to tour 20 schools in Wales to perform the show. Each school played host to other local schools and in total 1684 pupils saw the show.

"The tour was a fantastic experience......" said presenter Becky Read, "....it is amazing to see a spark of ambition in the children's eyes!"

One ten year old girl from Aberdare Town Church Primary was certainly inspired..... "Engineering I thought was to do with machines and I thought it would be a boring job but now I think I might be one!"

The show aims to showcase current young scientists and engineers (the new superstars!) and is packed full of interactive demonstations: flying beachballs, music played through lasers, and dropping eggs. You also get to meet 6 scientists and engineers with amazing jobs and have a go at the experiments that they do everyday, but which to us may seem a bit like the futuristic stuff that cartoons and comics are made of.

WISE in Wales would like to thank WAG for making this possible. WISE aims to attract more girls and women into SET and construction, to support other organisations that enable girls and women to advance their careers and to support other organisations that ensure girls and women stay in the SET and construction sectors.
