Science Communication Training

Science made simple has over ten years experience of presenting and developing science presentations. If you would like your staff to benefit from this experience, we can come to you with a training course suited to your needs.

One Day Course

Our one-day course is particularly suitable for those who are fairly new to presenting. It includes sessions on:

  • Tackling nerves
  • Building confidence in presentations
  • Using props to help explain science
  • Communication skills
  • Use of voice and body language
  • Interacting with the audience
  • Video feedback to help improve skills

 

Two Day Course

The two-day course includes all of the above, but also covers the development of new materials. This course is suitable for those who may be involved in the writing and development of new presentations. It includes sessions on:

  • How to write a good science presentation
  • Different formats for presenting science
  • Using AV successfully
  • Evaluation of your show
  • Where to get ideas

 

For science students and research scientists we can adapt the training to include sessions on dealing with the media, including:

  • Writing a good press release
  • Giving a good TV or radio interview
  • Catching the attention of the media
